The Giraglia Rolex Cup, which celebrates its 61st edition in 2013, includes one of the most renowned offshore races in the Mediterranean. The week-long event commences with a race from Sanremo, Italy to Saint-Tropez, France. The historic port of Saint-Tropez then plays hosts to three days of inshore racing before the start of the main event on Wednesday 19 June – the 243-nautical mile offshore race. Following its departure from Saint-Tropez the fleet heads southwest towards the idyllic Iles d’Hyères before turning to cross the open sea to the symbolic rounding of the Giraglia, a rocky islet off northern Corsica, and racing on to the finish in Genoa, Italy.
